Review of The Family Way

In The Family Way, Nell is almost no longer pregnant by the time her shower takes place. In other words, about to pop. A baby shower proves to be an uncomfortable gathering of…. “in-laws and outlaws”. (Author’s words, not mine.) The in-laws are the Bakers. A cop’s family – all of them dedicated to law and law enforcement. The outlaws are Nell’s family – whether she likes it or not – and also not dedicated to law or law enforcement.

When the Baker family is involved, you can be assured of a happy ending, but with a fair amount of mayhem preceding it. Don’t look for a mystery to be solved in this short story. This one is all about having some fun with previous story’s colorful characters.

If you are a fan of The Big Uneasy series by Pauline Baird Jones, you will absolutely get a kick out The Family Way!

Thanks to the author who provided a copy of her book. My review is my honest opinion.

About The Family Way by Pauline Baird Jones

At Nell’s baby shower, she’s hoping for a ceasefire between the law-enforcing Bakers and her criminal cousins (not to mention her scary grandmother, the mob doyenne).

The girls just want to have fun, but when the silly shower games are interrupted by some unexpected guests, it takes the “fun” right out of this dysfunctional family shower.

Can Baby Baker help these families inch closer to neutral ground and begin to heal old wounds and fractured friendships?
