I cringe when someone asks me what my favorite book is. Or movie. Or song. Or anything. Why? There are so many good books it is hard to choose. It might depend on my mood. Am I in the mood for comedy or drama? It might be the last book I read. It is fresh in my mind. Maybe the weather will affect my choice. During the winter, I might choose a book set in a tropical location. I don’t have one favorite. I am more of a many-favorites type of person.

That is why I started following the SFR Galaxy Awards last year. These awards were created in 2012 in order to draw attention to standout SciFi Romance stories. Not just one best story, but a whole slew of great stories! Several judges, SciFi Romance readers and bloggers, create unique, fun, and illuminating awards to recognize books that hit a mark! Each judge brings her own background and reading preferences to the event. The result is a long list of great SFR reading. If you enjoy this genre, you are sure to fine several books that will go straight to your to-be-read list!

This year I was privileged to be a judge in the SFR Galaxy Awards. The hard part was narrowing the list of exceptional books down to five. The fun part was creating my own awards. In each case, the award is based on some element of the story that stood out to me. In addition, each book is one of my favorites reads of 2015.

Here are the books that were my award winners. After this list, you will find links for the SFR Galaxy Awards. I hope you will visit all seven rounds of the 2015 awards – there are so many great titles!
